l am thinking of changing the floorings to my home and am confused with the many choices of wood flooring available.

What is the difference between timber flooring and laminated fibreboard flooring and which is better

Laminate is a picture of wood glue to a man made substance, that my husband refers to as glit- glue -hit. Laminate is pure garbage & swell like a sponge, when scratched has to be replaced, which involves taking up the entire floor. I would not let anyone talk u into using laminate. Real wood is beautiful, hardy, can be refinished, & increases the value of ur home. Home Depot sells real wood, unfinished & finished, finished would be a special order. If ur willing & able, u could purchase the unfinished & do it yourself & have a beautiful floor.

What is the difference between timber flooring and laminated fibreboard flooring and which is better

Timber is solid wood, laminate is laminated flooring
Some laminates have real wood laminated to a hard fibreboard.
Some laminates have a fake wood-look printed pattern laminated to the board. u need to look at what u like & not how it is made unless u insist on solid wood. then ask a salesperson to show u solid wood only & no laminates.
There r benefits to each but in most cases; solid wood adds more value to the property but is easier to mark & scratch than a laminate.
