Got new flooring about a month ago.I am thinking maybe laminate was not a good choice.l live in the desert & the floor seems to always be dusty. l tried a swiffer vac but it seems to do a superficial job.And l learned quick that you can not let the mop water dry on the floor because it will look streaked & dull when it drys.

What's the best way to clean wood laminate flooring

I am getting laminate flooring in a couple weeks, so I was very interested in ur question.

Two of the ladies in this group I belong to have it. So at our meeting tonight I asked them both about cleaning it.

One lady told me that she uses hot water, no soap at all. Gets the mop wet, & wrings it out as much as possible. Goes over the floor, it air dries, looks nice.

The other lady said she uses a gentle soap, nothing really strong. A damp mop, not very wet. It looks nice, too.

So the conclusion was, to wring the mop as dry as possible before going over ur floor.

I know what u mean about the desert dust. When I lived in Vegas, I could dust my furniture in the morning, & write my name in the dust on that same furniture in the afternoon.

I do not know whether that desert dust would make a difference in how u have to wash that floor. We r not in the desert here.

I use something u can get from janitorial supply stores called Neutral u purchase it in jugs & it is also an antibacterial cleaner to a full bucket of water u use only one ounce of cleaner. Be sure u ring out ur rag thoroughly & use a dry rag. Hand washing gives u the best clean as long as u hand dry with other hand as u wet wash it leaves no streaks & gives the floor a nice shine. You can also buy a spray bottle & use diluted Neutral for dusting all surfaces except mirrors & glass.
