One makes ones pots or vases or whatever from a certain kind of clay, but it will just crumble or something when it dries out, so it has to be fired; that is put in a special oven called a kiln and left for a long time. If this is not done the pottery wo not last. After it is done it can be painted or glazed or whatever. I am not a pot thrower so this is just general, but the firing process is essential and is done in a kiln.
well fired can mean 3 things, i think what they mean is that their colors r fired & not cold process,
but their r 3 stages of firing a product
1. biscuit
2. glaze
3. onglaze colors
what that comapny could means is #3 their colors r fired
which is at a lower temp that the first 2 stages.
''CERAMICS PRODUCTS ARE FIRED AT 1400F'' some companies use cold inks so they do not have to fire the ceramic.
or it could be #1 which is fired at i believe 2200F
they been fired in a kiln. because they were made outta clay. so they gotta be hard so they dont flop around when you get them. then they glaze them which is like paint but can be put in the kiln again. then they turn a pretty color ceramic.
It means they have been baked in pottery kiln at high temperature, probably for a long time. Some pottery takes about 12 hours to harden in a kiln.
It means that they have been cured in a ceramics oven.
