We have Perigo Flooring in our kitchen and foyer - we were unaware that you were not suppose to wax them - we have been putting Mop n'glo on them daily. They now have a constant dirty look to them and where my children have spilled stuff on them have places that are rough where the food or whatever has stuck to the floor. If you take a knife or something hard you can scrape these places off, but l really do now wanna do this to the whole floor. What would be the best way to strip the wax off and get all the crap off of them?

What is the best way to strip perigo flooring

Contact Pergo on their website to see if they have any suggestions. I have it too, but since I installed in I knew u could only damp mop. The finish is very very thin, so u need something that will loosen the wax buildup without damaging ur permanent surface. Surely someone else has done that too. Generally to clean & strip wax, u use sudsy amonia, but do not know what that would do to the pergo.

Update-- I had some scrap pergo in the garage, & wiped it down with parsons amonnia, seemed to have no effect on the finish at all, so u might try some in a discrete corner, remember to just use lightly, do not pour it on. I used it straight, so a milder solution would be less harsh.
